How do you spell Awesome? M-O-M

Three Daughters, Endless Lessons, One Mom Still Figuring It Out

Motherhood. It’s the greatest job you’ll ever have.

It’s also the job where nobody gives you a manual, everyone has an opinion, and somehow you’re responsible for knowing where the missing water bottle is. For years, I thought being a great mom meant having all of the answers and I was supposed to keep everyone safe and happy. I was to be the strong one, and to be available at all times, doing more, giving more and carrying more. I was wrong.

How Do You Spell Awesome? M-O-M. is a collection of honest, funny, sometimes messy stories from one mom raising three very different daughters while silmultaneoulsy trying to figure out who she was becoming herself. There are lessons I only understood after I had lived them. These aren’t stories about perfect parenting. They’re stories about real parenting. The moments that make you laugh, the moments that make you want to hide in the bathroom, the moments you wish you could do over and the moments you never want to forget. The hospital beds, the busy days, the impossible schedules, the arguments, the celebrations, the heartbreaks, the learning to let go and all of the ordinary moments that somehow become the ones you remember forever. Each chapter tells a story and each story leaves behind a lesson. Not because I have motherhood figured out. But because sometimes you have to live through something before you understand what it was trying to teach you. So come sit beside me. I’ll tell you what I didn’t understand when I was living it. Maybe you’ll laugh, maybe you’ll cry, maybe you’ll see yourself somewhere in these pages. And maybe you’ll walk away knowing something every mother needs to hear: You don’t have to get it all right to be a good mom.

You just have to keep showing up. Because apparently, that’s how you spell awesome.
M-O-M.
